ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Concern
Forehead lines, crow’s feet around the eyes, frown lines, smile lines, puckering around the lips, chin creases, and dimpling.
How it works
A muscle relaxing agent is injected into the facial muscle areas of concern. Once the muscle is relaxed, the outer skin later is smoothed, reducing the appearance of lines.
Treatments
Typically required every 3-6 months.
DERMAL FILLERS
Concern
Frown lines, wrinkles around the mouth, smile lines and jowl lines, tear trough hollows under eyes, lips, forehead and temple, cheekbones, recessed chin, nose, and scarring.
How it works
Dermal fillers are soft mouldable gels made from hyaluronic acid; a compound found in the skin. They work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, revitalising and adding volume to areas of the face where they are injected, and thereby smoothing out wrinkles. They also provide hydrating benefits for the skin.
Treatments
Results vary depending on many factors, including patient’s skin type and condition and location of filler treatment. Results typically last between 6-18 months.
BIO-STIMULATORS
Skin Concern
Wrinkles, sagging skin, ageing and reduced collagen production.
How it works
Unlike dermal fillers, bio stimulation treats the underlying cause of facial volume loss by stimulating the growth of collagen using Poly L-lactic acid. During the treatment, the product is injected beneath the skin and the site if then massaged to ensure the product has been appropriately distributed. Over time, the product will stimulate the production of collagen resulting in a gradual, completely natural look that will last longer than other injectables.
Treatments
Generally 2-3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
PLATELET-RICH-PLASMA (PRP) INJECTIONS
Skin Concern
Wrinkles, sagging skin, deep creases, and acne scars.
How it Works
A three-step process where blood is drawn from the arm, placed in a machine (centrifuge) which separates the blood into layers. The layer containing the highest concentration of platelets is then re-injected into the patient’s face.
Treatments
Most often 3 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
PDO AND LIFT THREADS
Concern
Mild to moderate ageing of the skin, including drooping eyebrows, sagging skin on the neck, loose jowls, and skin laxity in the cheeks.
How it works
Hooked threads are inserted into the sub-dermal layers of the skin to latch on and lift the skin in to a higher, tighter position. A small incision is made to insert the barbed sutures into the skin. The material used encourages the body to generate new collagen and assist with the lifting results.
Treatments
One treatment should last 18 months to 3 years, depending on skin condition, how skin is maintained after the procedure, the age of the patient, and how much lifting was achieved.
CHIN LIFT
Concern
Excess fat beneath the chin.
How it works
Kybella is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid which is used by the body to help absorb fat. Once injected, the acid destroys the fat cells beneath the chin area so it cannot store fat anymore.
Treatments
2 to 4 treatments (up to 6 may be require in some patients) are generally recommended. Once the fat cells have been destroyed, no further treatment should be required.
